Since we are used to traveling with our first dog, we found that traveling long distances with both dogs as well as all of the luggage that we tote around was not very feasible and comfortable in our previous sedan. Once we moved into our new home (and gained a lot more backyard space), we adopted a second dog. This vehicle was bought in 2015 when my wife and I relocated to Georgia from California in order to pursue a new career opportunity for me in the pharmaceutical industry. However, these seats would be perfect for families with small children or infants. Anyone over 6 feet tall would not feel comfortable for extended periods of time. Additionally, the overhead space is sub optimal. The only real dislikes that I have regarding this vehicle is that the rear seat is pretty standard in regards to comfort. The SRX is the vehicle of choice for about 90% of my families driving for these reasons. At 6'5", I can continuously drive this vehicle for 5+ continuous hours without feeling discomfort. The other main reason for choosing the SRX was due to its comfort level. You can also utilize the roof cargo rails and install a trailer hitch (which we have done) for added cargo space. The SRX provides as good amount of cargo space with the rear seats folding down. We initially were attracted to this vehicle because we needed more space than our previous sedans provided for longer road trips with our two dogs. I bought this 2012 SRX in 2015 and only paid ~40% of it original MSRP. This vehicle was initially chosen due to its quick depreciation of value.
